Radio programme on Inspiration FM on why some workers have complex about their jobs because of its nature.
-The society's perception, low self esteem, how they are treated by other workers, lack of vision, passion.
-Every work is important, without some of the so called menial job many organization can't function, jobs can be redefined by whoever is doing it etc.

This  topic is important for us to have a good grasp of how to make our work count for God. Our ultimate purpose in life is to fulfill God's purpose. If our media practice does not count for God, if it does not meet God's expectations of us, we would have failed even if we have succeeded in the eyes of the world.
Our world acclaimed outstanding performance, exclusive stories, awards and other journalism accomplishments would amount to nothing if they come short of glorifying God.
Let me illustrate this point with a statement by Late Jim Johnson, Editor of a popular magazine in Nigeria “The extent of distinction between writing to publish and writing to change the course of history is considerable. Unless we write with that difference in mind, we may get published, but we may not fulfill God's concern that our writing alter the course of someone's life"

Anchor Scriptures
Ephesians 6: 5- 9 The ultimate person to please is God
Genesis 1:1, 2:2 Our God is a working God.

Journalism is work, what is Work and why is it important?

-Work is what we do to earn a living
-Job is the particular thing we do regularly in order to earn a living9
-Activity that involves physical and mental efforts
-Striving towards a goal or some purposeful and constructive activity.

Notwithstanding how you feel about work, it can be rewarding either financially, physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually.

Work gives us a sense of accomplishment, significance and dignity.

It should not be regarded as a burden, curse like some say because of God's pronouncement after the fall of man. It has eternal value and should not be considered less than spiritual work, there is a role for everybody, every professional even in the Church or Ministry.
What is important is that we do whatever we are called to do with a clear understanding of what God requires from you.
Our work matters to God. He is interested not only in what we do, but how and why we do what we do.

Our work opens doors for us. We get to meet different people, takes us to places, gives us opportunity to help others, provide solutions to problems for the light in us to shine for people to give glory to our father who is in heaven.
Ultimately it gives us the opportunity to minister and lead others to Christ.

The Bible says whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your heart.
There are times we don't get what we want but it is important that we do whatever we get however small until the big breakthrough comes.
We can be choosy sometimes but not discriminatory.
A proof reader today can become an editor tomorrow.
Don't allow redeployment to dampen your zeal for work.
I am going to France because I choose to redefine what the job of an Online Editor is.
Your work schedule should not define your value as a person, it is not how big your position is or the awards you have but your understanding of what God requires of you where you find yourself.

2Thessalonian
3: 10-11 says if anyone will not work, neither shall he eat
Even as a missionary Apostle Paul engaged in tent making
Jesus disciples were called where they were working
Ephesians 2: 10 says we are God's workmanship
Seeth thousand diligent in his work, he shall stand before kings and not mean men.
Our work no matter where has eternal value according to 1 Corinthians 15: 58.

How To Make Your Journalism Count For God

-Regard it as an important work
See journalism as an important and necessary job and not a God forsaking one like many of us confess. See it as a privilege to contribute your quota to the development of the society.
Don't take the grace of God on your life for granted. Regard it as a call.

-Have a commitment to be excellent
Strive to be excellent in your approach to the job. Don't be casual, champion best practices and abide by the codes of practice of the profession. Your integrity is key to be a good witness as people will take your message serious depending on how they perceive you. Don't engage in unhealthy competition.
Respect constituted authority.
Many of our audience are not pleased with what we do, we twist facts, we are false witness and we promote discord instead of peace.
Six things the Lord hates, the seventh is an abomination.

-More than words
You should demonstrate a Christian workstyle in your office for people to want to listen to you. Do your work well and care about your co workers. Be interested in how they are doing and be willing to help in whatever way you can.

-Don't discriminate
Don't discriminate in your relationship. Like Jesus relate with workers across the rank and file. Cover diverse issues and give everyone a voice.

-See your office as a mission field.
-See your colleagues as your mission field.
-Remember that you not a lone ranger.
-Ask for support
-Be humble enough to what other people problems are and be ready to help.
-There will always be trials
