Whenever I remember the story my mother told me as regards
the circumstances that surrounded my birth I am always dumbfounded for the love
of Christ on my life.
If not for God what would have made a man who many people
have written off to see himself as the happiest man on earth despite daunting
challenges of life? A happy man is someone who has feelings of pleasure or he
feels satisfied with his life. A happy man has a happy time, place, situation
and event that define his true state of mind. He is satisfied with every
situation around him because the feelings of things done in the right way will
envelope him.
Age 33 is the best year of our lives, a new survey has
found.
A British website, friends Reunited says that 70% of people
over 40 picked that age as their happiest. Just 6% said they were content
during their college years. And only 16% pined for their childhood years.
At 33 years one in three surveyed found their happiness in
having children, while only one in five linked their sense of joy to their job.
The age of 33 is enough time to have shaken off childhood naivete and the wild scheming of teenaged years without losing the energy and
enthusiasm of youth.
Going by the survey, age 33 is truly a happiest year for a
man. A man is happy because at that age
he is a graduate and he has a good job. At that age he is married and he or she
has children.
But are all these the true testimonies of happiness? Definitely no!!! To the glory of God, I have
achieved all aforementioned qualities of happiness in a man at age 33.
In academic, I am what I am by the grace of God. It is on
record that I was the best throughout my primary school days. Right from
primary one to six nobody came close to me in all my classes. I was intelligent
to the extent that I became a student teacher even in primary five no thanks to
Ali must go saga that led to teachers
strike in Oyo State. In my secondary school, I had a good academic record. Even
though I had poor result in my first term in JSS1 but right from second term I
wasn’t looking back till I sat for my Senior Secondary Certificate Examination. Were these qualities of happiness
for me? I disagree totally.
In my polytechnic days, I enjoyed no rivalry in mass
communication department. I was the best graduating student in my set.
Throughout my days in Nigerian Institute of Journalism, I had excellent records. Despite daunting challenges
I was still a force to reckon with in my class.
In my marriage, I have recorded success already. I was sure
of my success because God gave me the bone of my bone and the flesh of my
flesh. Can I still count all these as my happiest moments?
My happiest moment came in 1999 when I gave my life to
Christ. At age 33, what made me the happiest man on earth is the fact that I
know Christ. I will always be grateful for the salvation of my soul. Without grace
there is no peace. I thank God I have received the grace. No wonder I have
peace of mind.
In the book of Numbers, God told Moses ‘ say to them, ‘as I live, says the Lord, what
you have said in my hearing I will do to you’. Numbers 14:28 RSV
Peace in my marital life, peace in my profession, Peace in
my family above all I have peace at age 33. The wholesomeness of God is me.
Nothing is lacking, nothing is broken and nothing is missing in my life. Happy
birth date to Benjamin Oluwaseun Sanni
